The United Kingdom and Russia have updated their travel advisories for Pakistan, citing heightened tensions and deteriorating security conditions following a recent attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).a
According to the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), British nationals are strongly discouraged from traveling to specific areas of Pakistan, including within five miles of the India-Pakistan international border and 10 miles of the Line of Control (LoC).
The advisory also applies to Balochistan province and areas near the Afghan border. The FCDO further warned that insurance coverage may not apply if individuals travel against official guidance.
Similarly, the Russian Embassy in Islamabad has advised its citizens to delay any trips to Pakistan until the regional situation improves.

The embassy cited escalating tensions with India and recent inflammatory rhetoric as contributing factors behind the advisory.
These warnings follow a violent incident in Pahalgam, IIOJK, where gunmen targeted Hindu tourists, resulting in 26 deaths and several injuries. India has blamed Pakistan for the attack—a claim Islamabad denies.
In response, Pakistan’s Senate has dismissed the allegations, while the National Security Committee (NSC) warned that any disruption to water flow under the Indus Waters Treaty would be considered an act of aggression.
