Woman commits suicide due to husband's gutka eating habit

In a heartbreaking incident, a young woman in India, who was exhausted by her husband's gutka eating addiction, took her own life by hanging herself from a fan.

The tragic incident took place in the Jalalpur area of Uttar Pradesh, where the couple resided. 

According to reports, the woman had repeatedly urged her husband to quit consuming gutka, but, her efforts were in vain.

The incident occurred on the same day as Karva Chauth, a significant festival during which married women fast for their husbands' long lives. 

Indian media reported that the victim had observed the day-long fast.

Following the requisite rituals, she requested her husband to leave the habit.

Local media said that the husband lost her cool over his wife's constant requests and the couple indulged in a heated argument.

After the husband's refusal, she committed suicide by hanging herself from a fan.

The police have taken custody of the body and initiated an investigation.
