Kinza Hashmi reveals she received her first showbiz paycheck Rs500,000 at 16

Renowned actress Kinza Hashmi revealed that she always aspired to be a singer and initially lacked interest in acting. However, a chance opportunity steered her towards the acting world.

Delving into the beginnings of her acting journey in a recent interview, Kinza Hashmi explained that she didn't possess the same passion for acting as she did for singing.

"I approached a studio, and asked if they needed a singer for drama OSTs, they later contacted me, but it was for a role in a drama, not singing," the Ishq Tamasha actor disclosed.

Kinza confessed that she was completely unfamiliar with acting and was rejected after her first audition. However, the drama's director cast her because they needed a fresh face and were impressed with her overall talent.

Initially dissatisfied with acting, she repeatedly asked the drama's creators if she could sing in the play. Due to her persistence, they transformed her character into one who expresses emotions through singing a song.

Since embarking on her acting journey, the Wehem actor hasn't looked back, and admitted she's unsure if her singing skills are still as impressive as they once were.

When asked about her first paycheck for her debut drama serial, she revealed she was offered a hefty sum at the time, which also surprised her.

"They offered me 500,000 rupees, and I was only 16. It was a huge amount for me at the time, but I kept a poker face," Kinza admitted she was ecstatic internally.

Before starting her acting career, the actress asserted that she never watched dramas or sought inspiration from others.

However, veteran actress Sania Saeed offered her valuable advice that had a lasting impact. "She told me it's better to play a small role with impactful acting than a big character with poor acting," Kinza shared.
