Lahore court grants physical remand of Amina Urooj in Qamar’s honey-trapping case

The Lahore District Court has granted a three-day physical remand for Amina Arooj, who is allegedly involved in a honey-trapping case targeting renowned writer and director Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar.

The hearing was presided over by Judicial Magistrate Nabila Amir, who considered the police's request for an extensive investigation.

The police argued that Amina Arooj's remand was essential for recovering assets related to the case. They emphasized the importance of interrogating Arooj to uncover additional details and identify any accomplices involved in the honey-trapping scheme against Qamar.

Magistrate Nabila Amir approved the police's request to extend the investigation of Arooj in order to recover the assets linked to the case.

Additionally, the court ordered that the other eleven suspects be sent to jail for an identification parade, a standard procedure where witnesses verify the involvement of the accused.

The judicial magistrate agreed to this request, ordering the detention of the eleven accused for the identification process.

Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar was abducted and robbed after being honey-trapped by a woman, the Lahore Police revealed in their investigation on Monday.

A senior police official informed a local newspaper that nine suspects, including two women, were detained for honey-trapping and kidnapping Qamar after he filed a complaint with the Sundar police station on July 20.

A committee was formed to investigate the matter and apprehend the suspects.

According to the first information report (FIR), Qamar received a call from a woman named Amina Urooj, who invited him to her residence in Bahria Town to discuss a drama project.
