Resham captivated by CM Maryam's 'charismatic' personality

Renowned actress Resham expressed her admiration for Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif following their meeting during an event celebrating Punjabi Culture Day.

Taking to Instagram, Resham shared pictures with CM Maryam and praised her warm demeanor, while also highlighting her ‘magnetic’ personality.

“Meeting Maryam Nawaz on Punjabi Culture Day is a beautiful feeling that still haunts me,” she wrote. “It was only after meeting her that I undersood the meaning of a charismatic personality.”

Describing their heartfelt interaction, she added, “Our conversation was genuine and heartfelt which is a great honor for me.”

Resham also applauded CM Maryam's strength and poise as a woman leading in the male-dominated arena of Pakistani politics.

“Only prayers come out of my heart for this woman who has surpassed men… Long live Maryam,” she remarked.

Addressing the “Punjab Dehaar” ceremony at Alhamra Arts Council, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif reaffirmed her love for Punjabi culture.

Urging the youth to be proud of their roots, she emphasised, “The youth must learn English, but Punjabi should be spoken with pride. Punjab and Punjabi are our identity, we cannot forget that.”

She added, “We should be as proud of speaking Punjabi as we are of speaking other languages.”

Highlighting efforts to revive cultural heritage, CM Maryam said, “The fairs and cultural events had been discontinued for 30 years, we have revived them. The people have participated wholeheartedly.”

She also touched on economic progress under her leadership: “Earlier, there was talk of default. Today, we are talking about development and a reduction in inflation. This is the same money that past governments had, but it’s being used differently now.”
