Doctors at Polyclinic Hospital in Islamabad have reportedly refused to hand over the body of a PTI worker to his brother, as the party leadership has not yet provided support to the grieving family.
The deceased, identified as Shafiq Lund from Dera Ghazi Khan, was allegedly killed during the security forces’ crackdown on a PTI protest in the capital on November 26.
PTI workers and journalists on X (formerly Twitter) claimed that the Polyclinic hospital administration denied having the body of Shahid Lund in the mortuary after the family identified the deceased.
A video circulating on social media, purportedly taken from the mortuary, showed several deceased men, with some claiming that Shahid Lund’s blood-soaked body was among them.
Journalist Hamid Mir also took to X to report that doctors at the hospital had refused to hand over the body, due to the fears of losing their jobs.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) social media accounts revealed the details of at least 10 workers killed during a violent crackdown on protests in Islamabad, contradicting Mohsin Naqvi’s statement that no protesters had died.
PTI’s official Instagram account shared pictures and names of the deceased party workers. While two remain unidentified, the other victims were identified as:
Mobeen Malik (Abbottabad), Anees Satti (Murree), Muhammad Iyas (Islamabad), Shafiq Khan (DG Khan), Abdul Rasheed (Balochistan), Wali Muhammad (Pishin), Tariq Khan (Shangla), Malik Sardar Ali (Mardan).
