Islamabad police clashed with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protesters at Faizabad Interchange as they led their rallies towards the capital city.
The government has issued strict instructions to law enforcement agencies to prevent any caravan or rally from reaching the federal capital in response to PTI's call for protest in Islamabad.
As a result, motorways leading to Islamabad have been completely closed to normal traffic, with diversions in place, such as directing vehicles to Thokar Niaz Baig and the Babusabu side.
In addition, 15 critical routes within Islamabad have also been blocked, including Kati Pahari, Nicholson Monument, Paswal, Fatehjang Road, Margalla Avenue, Faizabad, and Barakahu.
