A Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) caravan led by Mehr Abdul Sattar crossed the Ravi River by loading cars onto boats after encountering roadblocks on his way to Islamabad.
Videos circulating on social media showed several cars lined up with workers standing on a boat in the middle of a river, attempting to cross to join a demonstration in the federal capital.
PTI leaders have claimed that 490 party workers and leaders have been arrested across Punjab, with over 100 individuals still missing.
Previously, the Punjab government imposed Section 144 across the province from November 23 to November 25, banning all protests, gatherings, rallies, sit-ins, and similar activities.
These blockages have caused immense difficulties for thousands of citizens, who are unable to reach their destinations, even in emergencies.
