Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) revealed the details of at least 10 workers killed during a violent crackdown on protests in Islamabad, contradicting Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s statement that no protesters had died.

PTI’s official Instagram account shared pictures and names of the deceased party workers. While two remain unidentified, the other victims were identified as:

Mobeen Malik (Abbottabad), Anees Satti (Murree), Muhammad Iyas (Islamabad), Shafiq Khan (DG Khan), Abdul Rasheed (Balochistan), Wali Muhammad (Pishin), Tariq Khan (Shangla), Malik Sardar Ali (Mardan).

The party is reportedly considering demanding a judicial commission to investigate the crackdown. However, internal concerns have emerged regarding the decision to proceed to D-Chowk, which exposed workers to violent action by security forces.

Questions have also arisen about Bushra Bibi’s dominant role within the party and her decision to push for a rally at D-Chowk.

This decision reportedly conflicted with Imran Khan’s instructions to move toward Sangjani, a plan agreed upon by the rest of the PTI leadership.

According to the Guardian, a doctor at an Islamabad hospital revealed that he treated at least 40 patients with gunshot wounds on the night of the crackdown.

The doctor confirmed seven deaths, with four patients in critical condition, and noted that eight more injured individuals were admitted later.

“All records of the dead and injured have been confiscated by authorities. We are not allowed to talk. Senior government officials are visiting the hospital to hide the records,” the doctor told the newspaper.

PTI has highlighted the Guardian report to support its claims of higher casualties than officially acknowledged. However, discrepancies remain within the party's leadership.
