A petition has been filed in the IHC seeking bail of former PM Imran Khan in the Toshakhana-II case on medical grounds.
The application, submitted through lawyers including Salman Safdar, argues that Khan is suffering from a serious condition in his right-eye that cannot be effectively treated inside prison. The plea requests that the court suspend his sentence and grant bail on both legal merit and humanitarian grounds.
Health concerns surrounding the former PM have intensified in recent days. The Supreme Court earlier ordered authorities to arrange a specialist eye examination and facilitate a phone call between Khan and his sons after reviewing a report submitted by Safdar describing his medical condition.
The IHC has yet to announce when it will hear the latest petition. Legal proceedings in related cases, including the Al-Qadir Trust matter, are also pending before court.
