DIG Mahesar's son allegedly runs over woman while driving govt vehicle on New Year night

A disturbing incident unfolded in Karachi's Garden area, where the son of DIG Rapid Response Force Azfar Mahesar, hit a woman with his car when he was allegedly drunk. 

According to the police, the car, which he was driving had a government number plate and was accompanied by two Rapid Response Force personnel. The accident occurred in the Garden area, resulting in serious injuries to the woman.

Police said taht the DIG's son was allegedly intoxicated at the time of the accident. Following the collision, he was unable to flee the scene as a crowd of commuters quickly surrounded his vehicle, preventing his escape.

The situation escalated as the DIG's son's armed personnel allegedly opened fire to disperse the crowd that had gathered around the vehicle.

According to the police, Azfar Mahesar's son, Asher Azfar Mahesar, his nephew Mubashir Raza, and two Rapid Response Force personnel were taken into custody and transferred to the police station, while the injured woman was shifted to the Civil Hospital.

In March, videos on social media allegedly showed the son of Karachi Asher Mahesar firing a pistol and rifles into the air while travelling in a luxury car. In one such video, the policemen were also purportedly visible.
