Heavy rainfall likely from August 14, predicts Met office

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast heavy monsoon rains in Islamabad, Kashmir, upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan starting August 14.
According to the Met Office, from August 18 to 21, widespread rainfall is expected to affect Kashmir, multiple districts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has cautioned about potential flooding in streams and nullahs, as well as the risk of urban flooding in low-lying areas of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Sialkot, Lahore, Peshawar, and Nowshera.

Authorities have also warned of possible damage to weak infrastructure and uprooting of trees.
Tourists and travelers have been advised to avoid unnecessary movement during the forecast period to ensure safety.
