Former prime minister and PTI founder, Imran Khan, has decided to cancel the rally planned for September 28 in Rawalpindi.

During an informal conversation with journalists at Adiala Jail, Khan announced that instead of the rally, the PTI would now stage a protest.

He mentioned that the party would be withdrawing its request for permission to hold the rally from the Lahore High Court’s Rawalpindi bench.

Khan expressed that they are aware the authorities are unlikely to grant permission for the rally, and even if approved, it would be confined to areas outside the city.

Therefore, the PTI will hold a strong protest in Rawalpindi on Saturday, and their legal team will protest outside the Supreme Court tomorrow.

He also clarified that he has never met Justice Mansoor Ali Shah and referenced the constitution, stating that the senior-most justice should be appointed as Chief Justice.

Khan added that there is only one month left before the announcement of the new Chief Justice's name.
