Caretaker Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Aneeq Ahmed has announced the results of the balloting for the upcoming Hajj.

Out of 69,438 applications received under the regular Hajj scheme, 63,805 were successful in the balloting process.

Aneeq Ahmed highlighted the successful outcome of efforts to reduce the Hajj package cost, resulting in a Rs 100,000 reduction in the total expense.

Additionally, a waiting list comprising 5,633 unsuccessful applicants has been compiled based on their cities of departure.

If intending pilgrims from a specific city withdraw their Hajj application, individuals on the waiting list from that city will be selected.

Earlier, Caretaker IT Minister Dr Umar Saif and Minister for Religious Affairs Aneeq Ahmed collaborated to develop a mobile app, that digitizes Hajj operations for pilgrims.

Under the application, pilgrims will receive a unique ID, consisting of their CNIC and application number. The application grants users access to instant updates regarding their Hajj application status, enabling them to check their Hajj training schedules, flight information, and current details about accommodations in Makkah and Madina.

Furthermore, Pakistani pilgrims will receive free-of-cost mobile SIMs with roaming internet packages.
