PM Shehbaz announces e-bikes for high-achieving students

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has launched an ambitious initiative to promote electric vehicles (EVs) in Pakistan, with a focus on eco-friendly transportation and economic efficiency.
During a meeting on EV adoption, PM Sharif directed the authorities to present a comprehensive financial model by November, consulting with the Federal Ministry of Finance and State Bank.
The government aims to save foreign exchange on imports and reduce environmental pollution by promoting EVs.
The premier also instructed the completion of the National Electric Vehicles Policy by November, ensuring consultation with all provinces, federal units, and stakeholders.
To encourage sustainable transportation, PM Sharif announced plans to distribute electric bikes among high-performing students in government schools.
