Qaidi No. 804: Demand for new version of Kaptaan Chappal increasing ahead of Eid

The Eidul Fitr shopping is gearing up as the occasion is coming nearer. Among clothes, bangles, Mehndi and other stuff, the new version of Kapttan's Peshawari Chappal 'Qaidi No 804' is also getting popular among the masses specially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a stronghold of Khan. 

804 is the number of former prime minister in Adiala Jail, who is serving his jail terms after conviction in cipher and other cases. 

Recently, the government honoured ‘Kaptaan special Peshawari chapal’ maker Haji Nooruddin Shinwari, aka Chacha Noora, with civilian award during a ceremony at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor’s House.

Nooruddin Shinwari is the owner of the Afghan Chappal store in Namak Mandi Chowk in Peshawar. He came to prominence after he launched Peshawari traditional double-soled chapel in January 2015.

But the footwear got a new lease of life after it was popularised as the choice for PTI founder Imran Khan.

Chacha Noor had gifted the footwear to Khan at his wedding. Due to its increasing demand, he launched the online sale of the chappal nine years ago.
