Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hasan Lanjar has announced that he will suspend the SHO of a police station if any citizen loses their life during the robbery incident in Karachi.

The minister made the statement on the floor of the Sindh Assembly while delivering a fiery speech.

The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader also discussed the shortage of police constables in the province, revealing that 42,000 new recruits are needed. 

Lanjar praised the role of Rangers in Sindh, saying that the border force are collaborating with police on various targets, including in Kacha. 

He also claimed that the mobile snatching incidents in the metropolis were declined after the arrest of over 300 scrap dealers, who were allegedly involved in the crime.

Lanjar requested the Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah to announce compensation for families of victims who were killed resisting robberies in the port city.

The minister also announced to reduce in the number of police stations in Karachi

"We will increase the jurisdictions of police stations. We have also instructed police officers to cooperate with women and they should be respected at any cost," he concluded.

The surge in street crimes has instilled fear and insecurity among Karachi's citizens, as robbers continue to commit crimes with impunity.
