Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem has stated that many of the plot prizes announced for him after his historic victory at the 2024 Paris Olympics were never actually delivered, with the exception of the one announced by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.

Speaking to the media, Nadeem was asked whether he had received the various rewards announced by prominent personalities and officials after his Olympic win.

In response, he said, “All those prizes involving plots, I never received any of them. But I did get the cash and other prizes that were promised.”

He added that he had received the reward announced by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.

Arshad Nadeem made history in August 2024 by winning Pakistan’s first-ever Olympic gold medal in athletics, setting a new Olympic record with a throw of 92.97 meters in javelin.

More recently, in June 2025, he became the first Pakistani in over five decades to be crowned Asian javelin champion, earning national praise and adding another milestone to his career.

Arshad Nadeem departed for the United Kingdom to commence a crucial training period as he prepares for upcoming international competitions.

Nadeem, accompanied by his coach Salman Iqbal Butt, will train in London until August 11. This intensive training camp comes after the javelin thrower experienced a calf strain, leading him to withdraw from the Diamond League event in Poland, originally scheduled for August 12-16.

Despite the minor setback, Nadeem is set to represent Pakistan at the Diamond League in Switzerland (August 24-29), an event that will also feature India's Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra.

Following this, he will compete in the prestigious Tokyo World Athletics Championships, slated for September 13-21.
