According to police, the incident sparked anger among the people, who set the dumper on fire while the driver managed to escape successfully.
The accident occurred two days after five people were killed and several were injured in two separate dumper accidents at Rashid Minhas and Malir Halt.
The port city witnessed a surge in road traffic accidents since the beginning of this year with 74 killed and several injured.
Amidst a growing number of dumper truck collisions, the Sindh government on Thursday announced strict action against illegal and unregistered dump trucks operating in Karachi
During a high level meeting, Sindh Minister Mukesh Kumar Chawla emphasized the urgent need to address the increasing danger posed by these vehicles.
