A three-year-old child, who had been sold for Rs50,000 in Lahore, has been successfully recovered by the police.

According to SP Cantt Lahore, Awais Shafiq, the child, named Adnan, was kidnapped by unidentified beggars and later found in Mandi Bahauddin.

The abductors had sold the boy to a childless couple for Rs50,000. The police not only rescued the child but also recovered the money involved in the transaction.

The man who purchased the child, identified as Imran, has been arrested, along with his wife, who is also in custody.

The suspects were traced using CCTV footage, and the police apprehended them the following day when they arrived at a signal in the Defense area to sell the child.

This case has shed light on the disturbing reality of child trafficking and the lengths to which some individuals will go to exploit vulnerable families.
