Hospitalised girl reportedly raped at Lahore hospital

A harrowing incident of sexual assault occurred at Gulab Devi Hospital in Lahore, where a hospitalized girl was allegedly raped.

According to reports, the police have registered the case and arrested the accused, Nauman Shakeel.

The case was initiated following a complaint from the victim's father.

The victim's father recounted the incident, stating, "The lab technician raped my daughter by taking her to the washroom at Zafar Iqbal Block." The police have confirmed the arrest and indicated that further investigation is underway to uncover more details about the case.

In a separate but equally disturbing incident last month, police apprehended the principal of a private school in Orangi Town on charges of attempting to rape a matriculation student and assaulting her when she resisted. This incident reportedly took place within the jurisdiction of the Iqbal Market police station.

According to police sources, the principal summoned the student to his office, where he attempted to molest her. When the student resisted his advances, he subjected her to physical assault.

The swift action of law enforcement in both cases highlights the ongoing efforts to address and combat sexual violence, but these incidents also underscore the urgent need for systemic changes to protect vulnerable individuals in educational and medical institutions.
