Islamia University teacher 'harasses' female student with lewd messages, obscene videos

A lecturer at Islamia University in Bahawalnagar was arrested for allegedly harassing and blackmailing a female student, police said on Saturday.

According to police reports, the suspect, whose identity remains undisclosed, sent lewd messages and obscene videos to the student via WhatsApp.

The victim lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against the teacher for harassing her.

The case details revealed that the suspect threatened to fail the student in the exam and expel her from the university if she refused to engage in illicit relations.

The blatant abuse of power and harassment has sparked outrage and concern within the academic community.

Following the registration of the case, police responded to the complaint and arrested the suspect.

A police spokesperson said that the law enforcers would take every step to "ensure the student's safety and well-being".

However, no statement regarding the incident was issued by the varsity.
