A citizen paid a heavy price for visiting his friend at a police station in Karachi.

According to police sources, a man who had come to meet a police officer at Al-Falah Police Station had his motorcycle stolen during the visit.

After meeting his friend, the officer, the man came outside only to find that his motorcycle was missing.

Upon reviewing CCTV footage, the police discovered that the motorcycle had indeed been stolen.

Further investigation revealed that one of the suspects had entered the police station earlier under the pretext of filing a report about a lost identity card, possibly to survey the premises before committing the theft.

A case has been registered, and efforts are underway to apprehend the culprit.

This incident comes amid a broader pattern of rising street crime in Karachi. On March 9, the Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) reported that 3,773 motorcycles and 195 cars were snatched or stolen in February alone.

Even with police claims of a 21% decline in overall crime in 2024, street crime remains a pressing concern. Criminals continue to loot and harm citizens, often fatally, with minimal resistance.
