Two pregnant women tragically lost their lives after the ambulance transporting them to the hospital became immobilized in the mud following heavy rains in Sindh’s Thatta district.

According to reports, the ambulance was en route to a hospital in Mirpur Sakro, Thatta, when it became mired in the mud on a waterlogged road. Despite the driver's repeated efforts to free the vehicle, his attempts were unsuccessful.

Sadly, both women succumbed to their conditions before they could receive the necessary medical attention.

Initial reports have not yet confirmed the identities of the deceased women.

The districts of Sujawal and Thatta were hit by moderate to heavy rainfall last week, which severely impacted various areas.

In particular, the union councils of Kothi, Karmalak, Gul Muhammad Baran, and Mugerbeen in Taluka Jati of Sujawal district were among the hardest hit, with continuous downpours causing widespread disruption.
