The International Cricket Council (ICC) has named four Pakistani players, including team captain Fatima Sana, in its Women’s World Cup Qualifier 2025 Team of the Tournament.

The lineup, selected based on standout performances, also features players from West Indies, Bangladesh, and Scotland.

Fatima Sana led Pakistan’s campaign with notable all-round performances. She took 4/23 against Scotland in a rain-affected match and scored an unbeaten 62 in a tense chase against Thailand.

Opening batter Muneeba Ali earned her place with consistent performances, including a 71-run knock against Scotland that anchored a successful chase.

Spinners Nashra Sandhu and Sadia Iqbal were instrumental in Pakistan’s bowling success. Sandhu claimed 10 wickets at an average of 15.60, while Iqbal picked up nine wickets with an economy rate under four.

West Indies’ Hayley Matthews finished as the top wicket-taker with 13 wickets and also scored 114* against Scotland. Scotland’s Kathryn Bryce was named Player of the Tournament, leading the run chart with 293 runs and taking six wickets.

Bangladesh’s Sharmin Akhter scored 266 runs, including 94* against Thailand.

 

The squad also includes Nigar Sultana (wk), Chinelle Henry, Aaliyah Alleyne, and Katherine Fraser.
