Former Pakistan cricket captain and renowned wicketkeeper Rashid Latif has hinted at disclosing significant details regarding match-fixing scandals from the 1990s in an upcoming autobiography.

Speaking on a private news channel podcast, Latif revealed that he has begun writing a book in which he plans to expose the inner workings of match-fixing in Pakistan cricket.

“I will reveal how match-fixing happened, who was involved, and what went on behind the scenes during the 1990s,” he said.

Latif also claimed he would name a former national team captain who allegedly submitted a request for a presidential pardon related to fixing scandals.

This marks the first time Latif has publicly announced plans to release his autobiography since retiring from international cricket in 2004.

Recognized as one of Pakistan’s finest wicketkeepers, Latif first brought attention to corruption in cricket in 1994.

During a tour of South Africa, he and teammate Basit Ali announced their retirement, citing an unhealthy dressing room environment that they felt made it impossible to continue playing.

Latif’s statements have sparked fresh interest in Pakistan’s cricketing history and are expected to shed new light on one of the sport’s most controversial eras.
