The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed its nominations for the 'Player of the Month' for April.
Shaheen Afridi, Pakistan's fast bowler, has been nominated for this prestigious title, alongside Jared Erasmus from Namibia and Mohammed Wasim from the UAE. These nominations are based on their outstanding performances throughout April.
A noteworthy achievement for Afridi came during the T20 series against New Zealand last month, where he made history by securing a total of 50 wickets in the T20 format, a milestone no other bowler has reached before, all within the first over.
Recently, Mohsin Naqvi, Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), announced that each player would receive a $100,000 award if Pakistan emerged victorious in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
During a meeting held at Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium, Naqvi spent two hours with officials and players discussing playing strategies and emphasized the significance of bringing pride to the nation through their performance.
Naqvi expressed, "The value of the prize I announced will only be realized upon Pakistan's victory. I trust that you, the players, will bring glory to the nation this time.
