During the second T20I of the four-match series between England and Pakistan at Edgbaston in Birmingham on Saturday, May 25, a spectator carrying a Palestinian flag breached security and invaded the pitch.

England posted a competitive total of 183/7, led by skipper Jos Buttler's impressive 84 off 51 balls, setting Pakistan a target of 184. The Men in Green struggled at 100/6 in 12.3 overs. Iftikhar Ahmed (23) and Imad Wasim (22) were building a 40-run partnership for the seventh wicket when the match was temporarily halted due to a pitch invasion by a spectator waving a Palestinian flag.

A video that went viral on social media showed the spectator running around the pitch and passing close to Iftikhar and Imad. Security guards quickly removed the intruder from the field.

After the interruption, Pakistan resumed their run-chase. The partnership between Iftikhar and Imad ended when the latter was dismissed at 140/7. Following Imad's dismissal at 147/8, Pakistan's innings crumbled. Mohammad Amir (5) and Shaheen Afridi (9) were the last to fall, as Pakistan were bowled out for 160, losing the match by 23 runs.
