Angelina Jolie raises voice against Israeli atrocities in Gaza

LOS ANGELES: Renowned Hollywood actress and former UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie has broken her silence on the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza, expressing solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian people.

Jolie took to social media to share a post by Doctors Without Borders, highlighting the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

The post she shared described the region as “a graveyard for Palestinians and those trying to help them.”

According to the statement by Doctors Without Borders, Israeli forces have escalated their aggression in Gaza via air, land, and sea, forcibly displacing civilians and intentionally blocking humanitarian aid. “Palestinian lives are being systematically destroyed once again,” the statement read.

Since the start of the Gaza war in October 2023, over 51,000 Palestinians, including women, children, and the elderly, have reportedly been killed in relentless Israeli attacks.

Although a ceasefire agreement earlier this year briefly halted the conflict and included a prisoner exchange, Israel resumed heavy bombardments even before the second round of negotiations could begin.

Angelina Jolie, known globally for her humanitarian work, has long advocated for displaced populations and victims of war. As a UNHCR ambassador, she previously visited conflict zones including Afghanistan, and met flood-displaced communities in Pakistan.

Her recent gesture has reignited global attention toward the human suffering in Gaza and bolstered calls for immediate international intervention.
