Former Norwegian PM and ex-chair of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, Thorbjorn Jagland, aged 75, was hospitalized after reportedly attempting to take his own life as authorities investigate his possible connection to Epstein files.
According to media reports, Jagland was admitted to a hospital late last week after a suicide attempt. His condition is reported to be serious, though officials have not publicly disclosed details about the hospital that he’s admitted in.
The update came days after Norwegian police and the country’s economic crimes authority Okokrim launched an investigation into Jagland following the release of Epstein files.
The Epstein files, reportedly, has evidence of a long-standing relationship between Jagland and Epstein, including luxury travel and hospitality offers.
Jagland, who served as Norway’s prime minister in the 1990s and later as secretary-general of the Council of Europe, led the Norwegian Nobel Committee from 2009 to 2015.
Norwegian authorities reportedly carried out raids earlier this month on multiple properties linked to Jagland as part of the investigation.
However, statements from his side have been limited, and legal proceedings related to the charges are underway.
