The Indian team is likely to travel to Colombo for its T20 World Cup 2026 Group A match against Pakistan on February 15, even after Islamabad's decision to boycott the fixture.

According to Indian media reports, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that the Indian team will travel to Sri Lanka as scheduled and carry out all formalities required under ICC rules.

The Suryakumar Yadav-led side will train according to plan and take part in the pre-match press conference at the R Premadasa Stadium.

The reports said that the Indian team would “reach the venue on time, complete training, attend the press conference and wait for the match referee to take a call on the game.”

Under ICC playing conditions, a match can only be declared a walkover if one team does not turn up at the ground for the toss, they said, adding that in line with this, India’s captain is expected to come out for the toss at the scheduled time.

The report said that if Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha does not appear for the toss, the match referee will then declare a walkover in India’s favour, awarding them two points for the fixture.
