The U.S Embassy in Cuba has issued an advisory to U.S citizens in Cuba, of a rise in government backed protests against the US, disruptions in electricity, shortage of fuel and situations in which U.S. citizens are being denied entry into Cuba.

According to reports, prolonged power outages in Cuba are now a “daily occurrence,” and U.S embassy has urged Americans to conserve fuel, water, food and mobile phone battery and prepare for “significant disruption.”

The advisory from the embassy came after tensions between U.S and Cuba escalated. The tensions were initiated after U.S moved to block all oil from reaching Cuba, including that from ally Venezuela, pushing up prices for food and transportation and prompting severe fuel shortages and hours of blackouts across the island.

According to U.S. officials, these measures are part of broader pressure on the Cuban government. Meanwhile, Cuba’s deputy foreign minister confirmed that limited communications with U.S. officials continue, though no formal diplomatic dialogue has been established.

The deteriorating conditions in Cuba have also drawn international attention, with other reports highlighting widespread shortages, infrastructure strain and economic hardship among Cuban citizens as blackouts and scarcity of basic goods persist.

Trump has said, "Cuba will be failing pretty soon," adding that Venezuela, once the island's top supplier, has not recently sent oil or money to Cuba. Trump has also warned that countries supplying oil to Cuba will be faced tariffs on goods.
