In a bizarre incident, a 37-year-old Singaporean software developer landed in trouble after using a fake medical certificate to secure nine days of sick leave, international media reported.

Reports reveal that the woman wanted to take time off to care for her mother and other family members but feared backlash due to her negative reputation at work.

As a result, she avoided disclosing the real reason for her leave and edited an old medical certificate using Photoshop, changing the hospital name, date, and other details.

Additionally, she created a fake QR code to avoid detection, spending over 3,541 Singaporean dollars (approximately 756,000 Pakistani rupees) on the fake documents.

The issue came to light when the company's HR department found the QR code invalid and asked for the original medical documents.

The woman tried submitting another fake certificate, leading to her dismissal.

The company not only terminated her but also filed a legal case.

The court subsequently fined her 5,000 Singaporean dollars (over 1 million Pakistani rupees) for her actions.
