A delegation led by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Haroon Akhtar visited Moscow, where both sides signed a protocol aimed at modernizing and restarting operations at the long-dormant Pakistan Steel Mills.
The signing took place between the Secretary of Industries and Production from Pakistan and a senior Russian official.
Haroon Akhtar emphasized the importance of the agreement, stating that Russia’s involvement in the rehabilitation project would lay the foundation for a new era in Pakistan’s industrial development.

He highlighted that the project aligns with the Prime Minister’s vision of strengthening the industrial base and boosting economic growth.
“The partnership with Russia in restoring the steel mills will be remembered as a landmark achievement,” said Akhtar. “This revival will not only enhance production capacity but also generate employment opportunities and promote industrial expansion across the country.”
