Comedian-singer Chahat Fateh Ali Khan threatened to take legal action against model and host Mathira after she accused him of harassment during an appearance on her show.

Mathira claimed that Khan shared a video of her on social media without consent and made her feel uncomfortable by attempting to get physically close and hug her.

Taking to Instagram, Chahat Fateh Ali Khan posted videos responding to Mathira’s accusations, explaining his side of the story.

He clarified that Mathira had invited him to her show, saying that her program had not been performing well for the past four to five months.

“She earnestly convinced me to come to her show,” he said. “Her program hadn’t been running well for the past few months.”

Chahat went on to explain that although the show went well, he did not bring his team along.

“I appeared alone on set,” he said, addressing Mathira’s claim that he attended the show with his team.

He also denied Mathira’s statement that the video had been filmed by his cameraman, calling it "a lie".

“The second biggest lie is that I attended the show with my team,” he stated. “The video was actually filmed by the six or seven cameras from Mathira’s team.”

He further described Mathira’s allegations as a "lie" and stood by his version of events, emphasising that the video was provided by Mathira’s team, not his own.

Earlier, Mathira expressed her displeasure over an inappropriate video shared by Chahat Fateh Ali Khan, stating that despite being requested to delete the video, he has yet to remove it from his social media account.

Reacting strongly to the video on her show, Mathira stated that the video was recorded from a different angle and shared without her consent.

“Whenever a guest comes on my show, I treat them with respect, love, and kindness. But recording a video in this manner was unacceptable. Being bold doesn’t mean anyone has the right to hug or invade someone’s personal space,” Mathira said.

The host further clarified, “I was feeling very uncomfortable. This video was not recorded by our cameras but was secretly filmed by Chahat Fateh without permission. Neither I nor my team knew this was being filmed. The cameras for the show are positioned elsewhere, but this was filmed from a completely different angle, which is not allowed.”

Mathira emphasised how painful the incident was for her as a woman, adding, “I do not usually hug people.”

She also revealed that despite being asked to delete the video, Chahat refused to take it down or issue an apology.
