Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has proposed a unique solution to the ongoing issue between the PML-N government and the PTI-ruled Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Khaqan during an interview, suggested transferring Imran Khan to a jail in Peshawar, Haripur, or any other facility in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Abbasi's proposal comes amidst concerns over the KP government's participation in anti-government protests and alleged misuse of provincial resources.
Despite being imprisoned, Imran Khan continues to influence party matters, and his approval was sought when the government tabled the 26th Constitutional Amendment bill in Parliament.
Regarding the legal complexities of transferring Khan to another jail, Abbasi jokingly suggested registering a "simple case" at the new location to facilitate the move.
He also emphasized the president's role in promoting dialogue, stating that the president is a third part of Parliament and should step forward to play a role in the dialogue.
It's worth noting that Imran Khan was sentenced to 10 years in prison for leaking state secrets.
The PTI has announced that it will challenge this decision.
Abbasi expressed disbelief at the government’s justification for simultaneously shutting down all motorways for “maintenance work.”
He added: “They think the people of this country are fools. I am astonished by this government’s thinking. This reflects the government’s failure.”
