The Bohra community in Karachi, along with other regions across Pakistan, celebrated Eidul Adha today with vibrant festivities and heartfelt prayers.
In Karachi, Eid prayers were held at the Bohri congregational hall in Sadar, where the community fervently prayed for Pakistan’s integrity, peace, and safety, highlighting their deep concern for the nation's well-being.
To ensure the safety of attendees, the roads leading to the Bohri congregation were secured with barricades, and strict security measures were in place. Police and Rangers personnel were stationed around the Jamaat Khana to maintain order and provide protection.
The celebration was marked by families dressed in their finest attire, children holding hands with their parents, and elders exchanging warm greetings, creating an atmosphere of harmony and festivity.
Eidul Adha, also known as the Feast of Sacrifice, is one of the two major Eid festivals celebrated by Muslims. It commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to God. Traditionally, the festival involves the slaughter of animals, with the meat shared among family members and the poor.
The faithful continue the tradition of Prophet Ibrahim by slaughtering sacrificial animals over the three days of Eid.
