An aid convoy en route from Thall to Kurram was attacked near the Ochit area of Lower Kurram on Monday, injuring five truck drivers, one of whom later died from his wounds, police reported.
The 64-vehicle convoy, carrying food and essential supplies to Kurram district, came under fire from unidentified assailants at multiple locations including Bagan, Ochit, Mandori, Dad Kamar, and Char Khel.
As a precaution, officials turned the convoy back to Hangu after the attack.
Adviser to the KP Chief Minister on Information, Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, condemned the incident, stressing the government's commitment to restoring peace and security in the region.
During a cabinet meeting, security officials reviewed the situation in Kurram and announced plans to establish 120 security posts along Kurram Road and expedite the removal of illegal bunkers.
