12-year-old girl raped by her friend's brother in Islamabad's F-9 park

In another incident of sexual assault in the federal capital, a 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped by the brother of her friend in Islamabad's F-9 park.

According to the police, the harrowing incident happened on March 16 when the victim had gone to meet her friend at her house in Sector F-11 of the federal capital.

The police, quoting a statement from the minor victim's mother, said the suspect, identified as Sajid, had taken the girl to F-9 park on a motorbike, where he subjected her to sexual assault.

According to the mother, the victim came home crying at 11pm on March 16 and shared the ordeal, prompting family to approach the police to arrest the culprit.

Police said the victim was shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for medico-legal formalities.

The victim's mother said that she is divorced and works as domestic help to make ends meet for her family.

The case against the suspect was registered on the complaint of the victim's mother.

As per sources, the police have arrested the suspected, and further investigation is underway. However, the police have not issued any statement yet regarding the arrest of Sajid.

Earlier in February 2023, a similar incident happened in F-9 park where two armed men raped a girl at gunpoint.

Later, the suspects were gunned down by the federal police in an exchange of fire with cops at a snap checking point set up in Sector D-12 of Islamabad.
