Four-year-old dies after being hit by truck in Karachi’s Korangi area

A tragic accident in Karachi’s Korangi area claimed the life of a four-year-old girl after a Mazda truck ran over her. The city's heavy traffic continues to pose serious risks to citizens' lives, with such incidents becoming alarmingly frequent.
The incident occurred late Monday night near Jalal Chowk in Mehran Town, Korangi Industrial Area, when the toddler, identified as Rukhsana, was playing outside her house before iftar.
According to police reports, the truck driver, Zakir, was reversing when he accidentally ran over the child, killing her on the spot.

SHO Korangi Industrial Area, Khalid Memon, confirmed the death of the minor and stated that the police promptly arrived at the scene, arrested the driver and seized the truck.
Authorities gathered evidence and recorded eyewitness statements to determine the full details and responsibility for the accident.

The girl's body was transported to Jinnah Hospital in an Edhi ambulance for further procedures.
The deceased was the eldest among her three siblings.
Earlier, Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori announced that families of victims of dumper accidents will be allotted plots.
Speaking at a press conference in Karachi, he stated that a daily ballot would determine plot allocations, with builders providing property files to beneficiaries the same day.
