In a shocking incident of animal cruelty, a feudal lord in Jhange brutally tortured a donkey and broke its legs for mistakenly entering his farm.
According to police reports, the landlord's violent attack on the donkey was so severe that the animal tried to escape with its broken legs and got stuck in barbed wire.
However, the case was registered against the influential person on the complaint of the animal's owner.
The harrowing incident is the latest in a series of animal cruelty cases in Pakistan.
In a similar incident on June 16, a donkey owner in Hyderabad amputated his donkey’s leg in a fit of rage after it fought with another donkey.
The animal was shifted to Karachi for treatment, where it succumbed to injuries on June 23.
On June 8, a man severed both ears of a donkey that had wandered onto his farm.
A day earlier, a pregnant donkey was shot dead by influential persons over a minor dispute with the animal's owner in Rawalpindi.
In another incident of animal cruelty on June 15, a feudal lord in Sanghar, along with six employees, tortured a camel and severed its leg with a sharp tool.
The 8-month-old camel calf was shifted to Karachi from Sanghar for treatment at CDRS Benji, a local non-governmental organisation (NGO).
Just days later, on June 29, a female camel was found dead in Umerkot, Sindh, with all four limbs amputated.
