A Foodpanda rider was allegedly assaulted by the staff and security guard of a restaurant at Karachi's Tipu Sultan food street while waiting to pick up an order on Wednesday.
The incident occurred just before Iftar, and a video of the altercation quickly went viral on social media.
According to the video, the rider was waiting to pick up his last order before Iftar, accompanied by three to four companions.
The restaurant's security guard approached them and asked the riders to step away from the premises. In response, one of the riders explained that he would leave after receiving his order.
However, the situation escalated when the rider was reportedly beaten and threatened, and the security guard allegedly pulled the chamber of his gun to intimidate them.
In reaction to the guard's aggressive behavior, the rider reportedly retaliated, leading to a physical altercation with the restaurant's staff.

The rider stated that he repeatedly informed the guard that he was only waiting for his order, yet both the guard and restaurant staff continued to beat him.
Even after his companions mentioned that he was fasting, the alleged assault did not stop.
As the conflict intensified, several fellow riders gathered at the scene and reportedly attacked the restaurant staff in retaliation.
Eventually, the conflict was diffused after the restaurant management intervened. The restaurant reopened a few hours later following discussions between the parties involved, and the matter was reportedly settled.
