Policeman killed by robbers in Karachi

In a tragic incident, the gunman of SSP West was killed by dacoits during a robbery incident in Karachi, it emerged on Thursday.

According to police, the incident occurred in Orangi Town Sector 10 area, where the robbers were attempting to loot a Suzuki en route to Sabzi Mandi in the port city. 

A citizen, who was injured in the crossfire, recounted the events to Geo News at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

He said that the plainclothes police officer, identified as Abdul Ghaffar, fired at the bandits and injured one of the robbers.

Unfortunately, the law enforcer was killed in the crossfire, he added.

The police confirmed that one cop was shot dead and one citizen was injured in the firing.

A suspect was arrested in an injured state but succumbed to his injuries before reaching the hospital, police informed.

However, his accomplices made off with over Rs50,000 from five vegetable vendors.
