A speeding dumper hit a motorcycle near Steel Town Morr, leaving two riders injured, one of whom later succumbed to injuries during treatment.

According to Edhi officials, the injured were rushed to a nearby private hospital, where 35-year-old Muhammad Ayaz succumbed to his injuries, while 25-year-old Abdul Wahab is receiving medical treatment at Jinnah Hospital.

Edhi volunteers shifted the deceased’s body to Jinnah Hospital for legal formalities. Meanwhile, SSP Traffic District Malir, Shoukat Khattian, initially stated that the motorcyclists had miraculously survived the collision.

However, he did not mention that they had sustained injuries, one of whom later passed away during treatment.

The police have arrested the dumper driver and moved both the motorcycle and dumper to Steel Town Police Station, where further legal action is underway.

The Sindh government has imposed a daytime ban on dumpers entering Karachi to reduce road accidents and improve traffic flow.

The dumpers will be allowed between 11:00 PM–6:00 AM.

The decision was taken following an emergency meeting led by Chief Secretary Sindh Asif Hyder Shah, attended by senior officials, including the Inspector General Sindh Police, Commissioner Karachi, and DIG Traffic.
