Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has achieved a remarkable milestone, amassing 1 billion followers across all social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, X, and YouTube.

The 39-year-old footballer's social media success comes on the heels of his recent YouTube achievement, where he was awarded the Silver, Golden, and Diamond buttons for gaining millions of subscribers in just a few hours.

To mark the occasion, the sportsman shared a heartfelt post on social media platform X, expressing his gratitude and admiration for his massive following. 

"We've made history — 1 BILLION followers! This is more than just a number - it's a testament to our shared passion, drive, and love for the game and beyond," he wrote.

In the post, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner said that he has always played for his family and his fans "from the streets of Madeira to the biggest stages in the world".
