Dhaka: Leading student movement leader Sharif Osman Hadi was laid to rest in Bangladesh on Saturday.

According to Bangladeshi media, the funeral prayers of Inqilab Mancha spokesman Sharif Osman Hadi, who was seriously injured in an assassination attack and died while undergoing treatment in Singapore, were offered at the South Plaza of the Parliament in Dhaka.

According to media reports, thousands of people, including Chief Advisor Bangladesh Mohammad Yunus, attended the funeral prayers of Sharif Osman Hadi.

Later, the leader of the Bangladeshi student movement Sharif Usman Hadi was laid to rest with sighs and sobs.

It may be recalled that the body of Bangladeshi student leader Sharif Osman Hadi was brought to Dhaka from Singapore yesterday, while Chief Advisor Bangladesh Mohammad Yunus had also announced a one-day mourning on the death of Osman Hadi.

Hadi died on Thursday night at the Singapore General Hospital.

He had suffered serious head injuries from gunfire during an election campaign in the Old Paltan area of ​​Dhaka on December 12.

He was initially shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and Evercare Hospital, after which he was taken to Singapore for better treatment on December 15, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Sharif Osman Hadi was a key leader of the student movement that overthrew the Hasina Wajid government in July 2025 and was also the spokesperson for the Inqilab Mancha, a political platform established by student leaders.
