Israel has reportedly supplied the United Arab Emirates with advanced defence systems to counter potential missile and drone attacks from Iran, according to a British media report.

The report states that Israel provided a surveillance system known as “Spectro”, capable of detecting incoming drones — particularly Shahed-type drones — at a distance of up to 20 kilometres.

In addition, a version of Israel’s “Iron Beam” laser defence system has also been deployed.

The system is designed to intercept and destroy short-range rockets and drones, and was reportedly used earlier this year against attacks from Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Alongside these systems, Israel is said to have sent its “Iron Dome” air defence system to the UAE. Dozens of Israeli military personnel have also reportedly been deployed to operate and support the systems.

Citing unnamed sources, the report added that further weapons and additional Israeli personnel have been stationed in the UAE.

It also claimed that Israel has shared intelligence with the UAE regarding potential missile threats originating from western Iran.
