14-year-old boy shot dead for resisting robbery in Karachi

A 14-year-old boy was shot dead by muggers for resisting a mobile phone snatching attempt in Karachi’s Orangi Town, it emerged on Thursday.
The incident occurred in the Gulshan-e-Bahar area, where the victim, identified as Hussain, died on the spot after being shot by armed robbers.
According to the victim’s uncle, Hussain was sitting outside a mosque when the suspects approached him and attempted to snatch his mobile phone.
When he resisted and caught hold of one of the robbers as they tried to flee, he was dragged away and shot.

Hussain was a Hafiz-e-Quran and was pursuing religious studies to become a scholar.
Police said that one of the suspects was killed when a nearby citizen opened fire on the fleeing robbers. Another suspect was injured but managed to escape.
Meanwhile, police officials stated that the identification process of the deceased suspect is underway and legal formalities are being completed.

According to the spokesperson for SSP West, all aspects of the case are being thoroughly reviewed to ensure a complete and lawful investigation.
As per official figures, the number of people killed in Karachi this year for resisting robberies has risen to 33.
