The newly renovated National Bank Stadium in Karachi was officially inaugurated on Tuesday in a grand ceremony ahead of the ongoing tri-nation Series and the upcoming ICC Men's Champions Trophy 2025.

Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori and Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, representing President Asif Ali Zardari, jointly inaugurated the upgraded venue.

The event was attended by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, Federal Minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, national cricketers, former players, and other dignitaries.

The inauguration featured fireworks, a light show, and musical performances by Ali Zafar, Sahir Ali Bagga, and Shafqat Amanat Ali.

A key highlight was the unveiling of the new University Road End pavilion, offering state-of-the-art dressing rooms and hospitality suites.

The stadium’s upgrade includes 350 LED lights, digital replay screens, and over 5,000 new spectator seats.

Nearly 5,000 workers completed the renovations within four months.

PCB Chairman Naqvi emphasised that the revamped stadium aligns with international standards and will enhance the cricketing experience for players and fans.
